After Amanda’s Gold success at the “British Pole Superstar Championships” at Blackburn in March 2013 it was no surprise that she brought home the title of Runner Up from the Manchester Heat of UKAPP 2013, we are all so proud of Amanda’s dedication and hard work and look forward to the Final in Luton later on this year!

Amanda has been poling with Dance Finesse for just short of 12 months and has been attending group and private tuition with Serena on a regular basis showing a natural talent for Pole and Artistry.

Best Wishes from Serena and EVERYONE at Dance Finesse!

Serena Achieves PDC 4* Approved Status

Pole Dancing Serena Smith from Dance Finesse achieves PDC Approved 4 star status.

Serena Smith Pole Dancing Instructor
Serena received her 2 references for her 4 star application from PDC Pole Dancing Pioneer Karen Chaundy and PDC Approved 3 star Pole Dancing Instructor Tiffany Finney-McRory.

Reference – Karen Chaundy:

Serena is a well deserved 4* applicant and highly deserves recognition for her pole addiction!
As with many of us Serena eats, sleeps and drinks pole, and is fuelled along by her wonderful
students that share her passion. Serena has created a beautiful pole studio in the Ribble Valley to
ensure pole addictions may be scratched 24/7!

I have taught Serena Pole 1-2-1’s and find her to be very keen to learn and is gutsy when
challenged to learn something new. She brings a long list of moves to conquer to each 1-2-1 lesson
and is determined to achieve them all and take her new skills back to share with her students.
It is a pleasure to know Serena as she simply oozes all things POSITIVELY pole!

Tiffany Finney-McRory:
Serena clearly lives for pole fitness and the students she instructs. She is constantly involving herself in all aspects of the community such as attending workshops all over the country, volunteering for various competitions/workshops and more. She is a dedicated instructor and is
always actively trying to improve her own knowledge and technique for herself, her students and for the community as a whole. Serena has a very inclusive attitude towards pole and someone who actively ingratiates their lives in this community as much as Serena deserves recognition.”

Teaching History:

I have been teaching since September 2009 and have been running my own pole studio since May 2010. In this time I have gone from 3 small classes per week teaching from a local gym to, having my own studio and then opening a second and now teaching 15 hours per week of which 9 are full group classes and 6 are private lessons all whilst having a full time office job also. I currently hold 78 students on my register.

Student’s pole dancing success:

I have 3 students entering competitions this year, Emma – Pole for U and I which unfortunately she was injured and had to pull out. Sezen – Northern Pole Princess and Alice is currently working towards a routine to find a competition for. 5 of my students had intended to enter UKAPP this year but sadly this is postponed til next year.

Continuing Professional Development:

I have already paid for and started working towards my Intermediate and Advanced Vertical Dance Qualifications. I have been asked to run my own Workshops.

Competition Achievements:

I won Indigo Dance Magazine’s Cover Girl 2012.

Professional Pole Appearances:

I have been personally requested by Stacey Snedden to attend several workshops she has hosted at her studios in Stevenage.

I am constantly promoting Pole Fitness within my local area, not just my own classes but other local istructor’s studios. I have attended several local events with my X-Stages and given demonstrations, talks and allowed people to experience Pole Fitness for themselves, I hold Taster events as often as possible and was recently featured on BBC Radio Lancashire promoting Pole Fitness. I am an ambassador for Pole Dance Dictionary. I have held workshops for Bendy Kate, Jess Leanne Norris and Double Trouble (Dan and Stevie) and will be holding workshops every three months at my studio. I was chaperone to Marlo Fisken whilst hosting her Manchester workshop.

Charity events:

I have attended and performed at a Charity Event in June 2011 for Ronald McDonald House at Alderhey Children’s Hospital. I have run and am running Race for Life for the last three years. On opening both of my studios the money raised went to Pendleside Hospice and Cancer Research.

Publicity or Media attention:

I have been in the following publications; Ribble Valley Live, Clitheroe Advertiser and Times, Lancashire Magazine, BBC Radio Lancashire, Indigo Dance Magazine, Accrington Observer, The Carrier Pigeon, Skools Magazine

Pole Dancing Goals & Aspirations:

I am hoping to find the time between working full time and running my studio to complete my Vertical Dance qualifications Intermediate and Advanced levels before September. I would also like to find the time to create, perfect and perform/ enter pole fitness competitions my aim is to enter JLN UKPAC Instructor category in 2013. I would like to eventually go part-time at my full-time job and run more Pole Fitness classes.

I maintain a strictly professional website dedicated entirely to Pole Fitness and I promote Pole Fitness and the PDC via my Dance Finesse facebook profile, page and place and also via Twitter.
